Things to do in Berlin

BRUNCH:

🥞 Benedict — Classy 24/7 brunch place with a huge menu.
🍳 Lonely Hearts — Cute place with Full English and American Breakfast plates.
🍔 Annelies — Fantastic food, so good. Get the breakfast sandwich.
🍗 Frühstuck 3000 — Probably the best chicken & waffles I’ve ever had. Everything here is delicious.
🎠 Two Trick Pony — Great food. Skip the Full English, get another dish.

FOOD:

🧀 Markethalle Neun — Food hall, lots of great food stands.
🍖 Chicago Williams — American BBQ.
🥕 FREA — Vegan fine dining. Incredible food, you won’t miss meat.
🥘 Fes Turkish BBQ — Great Turkish food, get all the appetizers, skip the meat.
🍲 Cocolo Ramen - Really good ramen.
🍘 Yumcha Heroes — Hip dim sum. I love their pink glass window into the kitchen.
🥗 The Klub Kitchen — Modern casual lunch spot.
🌮 Taqueria El Oso — Best Mexican food in Berlin.
🌹 Coccodrillo — It’s part of a chain, but the interior is too good to miss.
🍜 Takumi Nine — Best ramen in the city, and generally great Japanese food.
🚃 Café Pförtner — Cafe inside of an old bus.
🍛 Asia Deli — Best Chinese in the city, not fancy.
🍗 Chibee — Great Korean fried chicken.
🍜 Shainu’s House of Noodles - Really good chinese noods.
🍔 Burgermeister — Best burger in Berlin, all the locations are good but this one is the original, and it’s in an old city toilet.
🍟 Goldies — Their whole menu is just Belgian-style fries topped with crazy stuff. They also have an incredible cilantro fried chicken dish.
🍔 Goldies Smashburger — A lot of people say it’s better than Burgermeister. I don’t.
🍛 Gözleme — Good very casual Turkish.
🍕 I Due Forni, Il Casolare, or Il Ritrovo — Classic Italian pizza, try the horse meat one.
🍕 Gazzo — Hipster pizza, also very good.
🍕 Magic John's Pizza — NY & Detroit style pizza.
🍖 Zur Haxe — Very good, very traditional German food, huge portions.
🍽 Michelberger Restaurant — Upscale but not too pricy food, a good bar, and a cute hotel.
🏥 ORA — Beautiful restaurant in a former pharmacy.

BARS:

🥃 Herr Lindemann — Cocktail bar with a vine-covered patio in a beautiful little part of Neukölln. Every drink is incredible.
🍰 Torte — Hip cocktail bar across from the Sonnenallee station.
🍺 Mikkeller — Great beer bar from Copenhagen, pleasant Scandinavian interior.
🍻 Wohnzimmer — Cool bar, fun interior.
🍹 BRYK Bar — Super interesting cocktails.
🍸 Buck & Breck — Extremely fancy cocktails (there is a dress code & it’s expensive).
🍺 Vagabund — Craft beer brewery bar.
🍹 Basalt — Dimly lit cocktail bar with nice dark green tiles.
🍻 BRLO Brwhouse — Brewery with nice food in Gleisdreieck Park.
🍸 Velvet — Very inventive, kinda pricy cocktails.
💖 Paulo Pinkel — Huge bar with three restaurants inside it. Every hip Berliner’s favorite bar to hate on but still go to.
🎰 Bierbaum 2 — Pretty crap bar, but it’s cheap, and the bartenders are nice. I don’t know what it is about this place… I always meet new friends here. Have spent countless hours in this place.

CLUBS:

⛓ Berghain / Panorama Bar / Saüle — Gay, intense, huge, amazing bookings.
🏳️‍🌈 Schwuz — Gay, fun, there’s a pop music dancefloor.
👯 Griessmühle — Love this place, huge gnarly outdoor area on a canal It’s an apartment building now :( RSO is run by the same people but I never go there.
😎 OHM — Great bookings, nice vibe. Small, intimate club.
🏄‍♀️ OXI Garten — Nice outdoor area, cool cocktail menu, go in summer.
🚣‍♀️ ELSE — Fun outdoor club, directly on the Spree River.

COFFEE:

☕️ Bonanza Coffee Heroes — My favorite coffee shop, they have a 2nd location in Kreuzberg.
☕️ Kaschk — Nice place in Mitte that also serves craft beer.
☕️ The Barn — The most popular hip coffee in Berlin probably.
☕️ Silo Coffee — Brick-walled coffee shop with great brunch food.
☕️ Coffee Circle — There’s a location in Bergmannkiez and in Wedding.

SHOPPING:

🏢 KaDeWe — Famous German department store, so fun to walk around in. Make sure to check out the top grocery & food floor.
👒 Superconscious — Shoes, clothing, & lifestyle store.
✂️ MUJI — Minimal Japanese home goods.
👡 Voo Store — High fashion, tragically hip, very expensive clothing.
👟 Weekday — Hip, cheap streetwear chain.
👚 Monki — Colorful, fun women’s clothing chain.
🕯 The Store — Lots of cool expensive stuff (Inside SOHO House).
🍫 Goldhahn & Sampson — Fancy groceries.
📚 Do You Read Me?! — Really cool bookstore.
📖 Motto — Very cool indie/rare book store.
🗑️ Granit — Industrial, minimal, affordable home goods.
🧹 Manufactum Warehouse — High quality, built-to-last home goods.

ART:

🖼 Hamburger Bahnhof — Great permanent collection, always good contemporary shows.
🎨 Haus der Kulturen der Welt — Cool building, cool graphic design.
🏢 Boros Collection — Used to be one of the first techno clubs in Berlin, has a rotating impressive private collection. Make a reservation!

PARKS:

🐰 Hasenheide — People party here on the weekends on the Columbiadamm side.
🛬 Tempelhofer Feld — My favorite place in Berlin. An old airport, now a park.
🌳 Rehberge — Vast, mostly empty park in Wedding.
🏰 Humboldthain — Big park with a huge fort you can climb for the views.
🏞 Victoria Park — There’s a realistic (but fake) waterfall in this park, it’s great.

OTHER TIPS:

🦍 Gorillas & Flink — Groceries delivered anywhere in minutes.
💙 Wolt — Best food delivery app (Uber Eats works too).
🛵 Emmy — The red e-scooters around the city (need an EU license to drive)
🛴 FreeNow — Dumbest name on earth, but you can rent all the scooters in one app, plus you can get taxis, and if you have a license you can rent cars and mopeds.
🚇 BVG Tickets — The public transit tickets app. Necessary!
